Ophelia TAlks CAL All the information you'll need to get started

Who is ready for a Crochet A Long project by Ophelia Talks?

OPHELIA TALKS CROCHET

Ophelia Talks' first CAL

Start by saving this link to your favourites as this will be the place where the pattern is published throughout the CAL. You will also be able to purchase a nice pattern, with pictures, from Ravelry after the CAL has finished.

This CAL is meant for everybody, from beginner to advanced! It is meant for you to enjoy your hobby and to end up with a nice item. I designed it as a stress-free CAL so if you find you are having problems, please do go to the FACEBOOK group OPHELIA TALKS CROCHET and ask to become a member (or better still do that right now!) and ask your question! We have like-minded people in my group and many of them will be doing the CAL. The testers who tested my pattern are also part of the group, so they can sure help you. You are not alone! We are doing this CAL together!

Please Note!!
The CAL is written in US terminology!!

What are we making?
It's a surprise!! Just trust me!!

What do you need?
There are two colourways I am going to suggest but obviously, you can use your own colours and own yarn, but I suggest using DK or worsted weight. You use the hook you normally use for these yarns. I am using my 3.5 (the yarn prescribes a 4).

These are the colours and amounts (I am using Stylecraft Special DK)
Colourway 1 'Grape'
Cream         1 ball / 100 g / 295 m / 322 yards
Parchment   1 ball / 100 g / 295 m / 322 yards
Grape          3 balls / 300 g / 885 m / 966 yards

Colourway 2 'Graphite'
Silver           1 ball / 100 g / 295 m / 322 yards
Lime            1 ball / 100 g / 295 m / 322 yards
Graphite      3 balls / 300 g / 885 m / 966 yards

When do we get started?
The actual CAL will start going live on YouTube from 18 September 2019. With two episodes each week for you to watch and complete, and written patterns to get from here. The links to the written patterns will be underneath the video in the description box.

You will be reading the pattern on the blog and can obviously copy-paste it to print it off.
A nice PDF type pattern will be available for you to buy on Ravelry from mid October 2019.
The link to that will be published here too.

There will be another information video on YouTube on 6 September 2019 with all the info you need.

How long does the CAL last?
There will be 4 weeks with each two episodes and then the assembly too. And a tadaaaaaa video too of course!! So 5 weeks in all.

What if I don't like the item you are suggesting we make?
I am hoping you will like my suggestion, but if not, in the assembly video there will be alternatives offered as well, so you will be able to use the pieces you have made in something else that I suggest, so if worst comes to worst, it can be turned into a present to give to someone!! LOL

Playlist on YouTube
I will be creating a playlist on YouTube so the videos are easy to find or if you are reading this after the facts, you will find a playlist on my YouTube channel called 'CAL 2019' with all the videos in there!

That's it for now. I am off filming some more CAL videos, Talk soon!
Happy Hooking
